Geneva YMCA Tidal Wave Program

For those children desiring to learn more refined stroke techniques and the basis of competitive starts and turns.  This program is coached by an experienced competitive swimmer and is a great bridge from swim lessons to swim team.

Monday 6-7pm and or Wednesday 6-7pm

Red Cross Lifeguard Course

Ages 16 and up

Enhance your swimming skills and increase employment opportunities by becoming a certified lifeguard.  Strong swimming skills required.  This class includes First Aid, CPR and use of AED.  Must attend all classes, pass written and water tests to become certified. Min 3/Max 9  Call the YMCA for more info.

Swim Instructor Course

Ages 16 and up

Increase employment opportunities by becoming a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI). This class will teach the NEW Red Cross swim levels including Parent and Child, Preschool and Youth levels as well as Water Safety Outreach. Participants must attend all classes, pass written and water tests to become certified. 

Red Cross Lifeguard & CPR Re-certifications

This course will re-certify Red Cross Lifeguard and/or CPR for Lifeguards. Participants must be current or expired no more than one year ago. Certificatioin is not guarnteed. Call the YMCA and ask for Heidi to get Dates & Times.

Private Swim Lessons
A private swim lesson is a series of one on one training sessions. Classes are individually designed for each participant. All ages and all levels can be taught. Please call the Aquatic Department and ask for
Judy Scott as these lessons are limited by the availability of instructors. 7-30 minute lessons.

Semi-Private Swim Lessons
A semi-private swim lesson is a series of classes with a ratio of two or more kids at the same ability level, with one instructor. All ages and all levels can be taught. Sign up with a friend or sibling. Please call the Aquatic Department and ask for Judy Scott as these lessons are limited by the availability of instructors. 7-30 minute lessons.

 

Water Fitness Coordinator:  Bonilee Maclay

*NEW* Aquatic Boot Camp

This class is meant to max your seimming fitness workout. We will use kickboards, weights, belts and zoomers to create a fast paced workout to target gluts, quads, abs and back muscles.

*NEW* Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program

A program created by physical therapists to keep joints flexible, muscles strong and to help reduce the pain associated with arthritis. The soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm watehr make this program an ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness.

Aqua Fit

A  shallow water, high level of cardiovascular training with strength and toning.  You'll learn how to maximize the water's resistance and challenge each muscle group.  Great for beginners!

Aqua Cycle
Fun, energetic water deep water workout using interval training, water cycling, and water jogging.

Aqua Intensity

Deep water is a great core cardio workout that tones, strengthens and provides a total body workout with zero impact to the knees.  Belts may be worn but not necessary.

Joints in Motion

These classes are taught in the warm water pool.  It is a combination of low impact water aerobics and range of motion exercises.

Joints in Motion ~ Waves

Our traditional warm water "Joints in Motion" class but designed specifically for those dealing with arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, joint replacement or surgery recovery with focus on balance, flexibility, coordination and water walking.

Joints in Motion ~ Splash 

Joints in Motion class is taught in the warm water pool.  It is a combination of low impact water aerobics and strengthening/toning set to upbeat music.

Aquatic Personal Training!

Add a new dimensioin to your workout while taking the stress of your joints. Aquatic training is a great way to lose weight,  tone up and increase cardiorespiratory endurance! Call they Y and ask for Bonilee!

Geneva YMCA Masters Dolphin Swim Team
The Master Dolphin is an adult swim team with members from 18 and up. We focus on technique and conditioning and swim in several meets. The Master Dolphin team is a great way to be  part of a dedicated group of competitive swimmers that works and laughs hard!
Practices:
Tues. & Thurs. 6-7:30 am
Sat. 7-8:30 am

Members $240 annual OR $25 per month

Non-members $360 annual OR $37.50 per month
